County 2nd's WIN 10 / 2 against Brecon & Radnor
The 2nd team entertained Brecon & Radnor in their 2nd Wessex League match of the season at Shirehampton Park Golf Club on Sunday 14th May.
Unfortunately Brecon & Radnor had a very late withdrawal on the morning of the match with resulted in them forfeiting one of the foursomes and one of the singles matches.
The three remaining morning foursomes matches all went the way of Gloucestershire with some very dominant performances, Dave Allison and Harry Griffiths won 4&3, Toby Janes and Ryan Prosser 6&5 with Joe Biscoe and Charlie Taylor-Madge 3&2 giving a 4-0 scoreline at lunchtime.
With the wind picking up a fight back was expected and after another impressive 5&4 win by young Toby Janes there was a slight comeback with Brecon & Radnor winning the next 2 games, Chris Shanks losing a very close match on the last hole and Ryan Prosser losing 3&2.
Another half point was all that was needed to secure victory and the team turned up the heat with some great golf, Charlie Taylor-Madge securing another 3&2 victory, Joe Biscoe winning 4&2 and Harry Griffiths 5&4 leaving captain Neil Tocknell to bring home the final point with a hard fought 1 up win and giving the team a fantastic 10-2 victory.
