Seniors Scratch Foursomes

 

After many rounds of the Seniors Scratch Foursomes Salver only 4 teams remained and they would do battle over Puckrup Hall on Sunday 8th October looking to be crowned Champions. The Semi final match ups were Cotswold Hills v Cirencester and Long Ashton v Painswick. With the weather unseasonally warm and the golf course looking great, things were set up perfectly. Semi Final

Cotswold Hills v Cirencester

Long Ashton v Painswick

In the first match out Cotswold Hills GC were victorious by the margin of 3-0. In the second match, Long Ashton GC were victorious by the margin of 2-1 which set up a final between Long Ashton GC and Cotswold Hills GC. Battling it out for in the 3rd place play off were Cirencester GC and Painswick GC.

The 3rd place play off was won by Cirencester by a margin of 2-1 giving them 3rd place.

Final

Long Ashton v Cotswold Hills

The final was a very exciting affair with Long Ashton and Cotswold Hills fighting it out right to the end but the Long Ashton team prevailed 2-1.  Well done to the Long Ashton team captained by Alistair Johnson.

 

The final standings were:

1st Long Ashton  GC

2nd Cotswold Hills GC

3rd Cirencester GC

4th Painswick GC

Our thanks must go to Puckrup Hall Golf club and its members for allowing us the use of the course and for keeping everyone fed and watered throughout the day. We truly appreciate it. We hope to see many clubs enter the Seniors Scratch Foursomes next year where Long Ashton GC will look to defend their title.
