Gloucestershire Seniors kicked-off their 2023 season with their annual friendly versus Worcestershire.

Despite some atrocious weather for the morning greensomes, honours were even at lunchtime.

The afternoon fourball session started with debutant Phil Sutton completing a double on the day with his partner Steve Yorke.  An impressive start from the Wales International.  Things were looking brighter than the weather when Nigel Gravelle and Tim Clink added another win in the second match.  However, with the next three matches being taken by Worcestershire  courtesy of some impressive putting from Sean Thornhill and Dave Marshall all eyes were on the final match.  Dave Williams and Carl Gyde held out for a half but the overall result went to Worcestershire by a point.  Williams and Gyde were unbeaten on the day and should feel happy with their day’s work.

Huge thanks to Broadway Golf Club for hosting the event.  In view of the poor weather recently, the course preparation and attention to detail was first class.
