Gloucestershire U14's lose at home to Glamorgan

In the midst of a busy week of Jeff Hall Junior opens the U14’s met up with Glamorgan on a bright and breezy Forest of Dean GC for our annual match

After a run through of the Viktus GGU warm up Alfie and Olly led the boys off in a morning of 9 hole foursomes with the first hole being a particularly tricky opener for our lads with Kohan and Fred following them down the right while Henry and Will, Harvey and Alex as well as James and Ben all catching some trouble off the tee. With the boys of to a slow start we lost the third and fifth matches early and with the top struggling to recover it was down to Harvey and Alex to hole a 15 footer for birdie to get a point for us from the morning

After a quick breather we were off again for the afternoon singles with the first proving less of a challenge but with the Glamorgan tails up some leads were built up quickly although by the turn the boys began to fight back. The big lead did however mean some early loses for Alfie, Fred and Ben while Harvey hung on till the 16th. With things tipping the Glamorgan way all credit for Olly bringing in the first point of the afternoon on 17 which also saw our second point from Alex but also unfortunately losses for Kohan and Will while James fought on losing out to a great holed putt on 18

A big thanks you to everyone at Forest Of Dean GC  being such good hosts, Paul and Mark from Glamorgan for such great support on the day along  and especially to all the parents for getting the boys there and supporting them so well

Although our final match for the season the boys have much still to play for as the Jeff Hall trophy continues to conclusion into the Autumn
