Gloucestershire Golf Union
County Medal Final
Over 40 players from across the County took part in the GGU County Medal Final. All players qualified by way of winning or finishing runner up in their respective clubs GGU nominated medal. On offer were two divisional titles and Minchinhampton’s Avening course would play host on what was a perfect day for golf.
The Division 1 winner was Jack Wilkins (R) (Gloucester) who carded a fine nett 69 and he was presented with his prize by GGU President Tim Clink (Lilley Brook). This just pipped Derek Kilgallon (Bristol & Clifton) on countback. In third with a very credible nett 71 was Michael Webb (Minchinhampton). The Division 2 title was won by Jack Hussey (Tracy Park) who also carded a nett 69. In second and just a stroke behind was Paul Thomas (The Bristol). In third and a further stroke behind with a nett 71 was Charlie Godwin (Lansdown)
Well done to both winners and our thanks must go to Minchinhampton for their hospitality on and off the golf course.
