Appointment of County Executive Secretary to the Gloucestershire Golf Union
We are very pleased to announce that Dean Newbold has been appointed and will be in post from the 1st June 2021. Dean will work alongside James Macpherson until his retirement on the 30th June 2021.
Dean is a versatile sports management professional educated to Masters Level with experience of working in the golf industry as a CDO for England Golf, Head of Golf Operations at BB&O, Freelance Project Assistant for Golf Union of Wales, IMG & European Tour as a Production Assistant, as well as currently Player Liaison Officer for Southampton Football Club.
Dean is currently a member at Frilford Heath and Lansdown Golf Club. Dean was also First Team Captain at Frilford between January 2016 & January 2019 and has a current handicap index of +2. Dean lists representing England as a kid as the pinnacle of his sporting achievements to date.
We look forward to working with Dean as we continue our desire to support and enhance the game of golf to all our affiliated clubs and their members.
