Felix Beckett wins first Gloucestershire County Junior Sunday Medal in style
28 Gloucestershire Golf Union Under 14 & Under 16 boys turned out for the first County Junior Sunday medal played on a very windy afternoon at Shirehampton last Sunday (5th July). 
The conditions proved to be very testing however, Felix Beckett from Minchinhampton Golf Club clearly doesn’t mind the strong winds as he shot an excellent 81 gross off 18, so a nett 63 to win the event by a clear 6 shots from Lewis Ault (Long Ashton Golf Club), the only other player to play to his handicap on the day.

The County would like to thank Shirehampton Golf Club for setting aside 7 tee times from their busy Sunday afternoon schedule to allow this event to take place and also for presenting the course in such a fine condition. Given the lack of competitive golf over the past 4 months, the boys really appreciated the opportunity to be able to compete against each other again and the standard of golf can only improve as the boys continue to play more.
