Gloucestershire Golf Union (GGU) player, Joe Harvey has just returned from winning the Tillman Trophy with an impressive score of 281, 7 under par. The event, which was held at Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club in Kent this year saw 120 golfers take part.
The Tillman Trophy has been established since 1980 by Bill Tillman, a past Captain and President of Surrey Golf. It is a 72 hole scratch event for elite amateurs and is played using the larger, American ball rather than the traditional English golf ball.
Joe, 22, is a member at The Kendleshire Golf Club, near Bristol.
Joe adds “I am absolutely thrilled to be taking home the historic Tillman Trophy having beaten some tough opposition on the day and would encourage all young players to give these types of tournament a try.”
