Last weekend (18 & 19 May) saw Nick Day of Henbury Golf Club win Gloucestershire’s 103rd Men’s County Amateur Championship.
Following an impressive win of the first Duchess Salver event of the season at Long Ashton Golf Club in Bristol he was able to deliver an outstanding performance at The County Championship, defeating 59 other players and finishing on a score of 281.
The event, which took place for the first time at Forest Hills Golf Club, is the only 72-hole stroke play event in the region; a chance for players to play the same format as the best professionals in the world.
Nick said: ’These competitions are great fun and extremely rewarding. The course was in great condition, my competitors on good form and I’m proud to have won this year’s event.’
This weekend we look forward to the county U18's Boys Championship and wish all the players the very best of luck.
