West of England U16s Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship

England Internationalist, Amelia Williamson (Royal Cromer) returns two impressive rounds of 70 and 71 to win the West of England U16s Open Amateur Stroke Play Championship in a mixed field of boys and girls at Lilley Brook GC.

On accepting her prize, Amelia said "She was delighted to come out on top on her first trip to Gloucestershire and thanked her father for driving the 400 mile round trip from Norfolk to Cheltenham thus allowing her to take part."

The foundations for the fifteen year old's success was the impressive run of five birdies at holes 10, 11, 12, 15 and 18 during her first round together with playing holes 9 through to 18 in level par during her second round.

Previous winners of the Championship and former holders of the 'Ken Newman Salver' are Josh Phillips (Players Club) and Luke Northwood (Kenilworth).
