Overall Results 1 - Warwickshire 2 - Staffordshire 3 - Gloucestershire 4 - Worcestershire
It was probably the closest result in living memory with anyone of the top3 able to win right down to the last game. Day one started with Staffordshire beating Worcestershire by 5 games to 3. In Gloucestershire's game with Warwickshire it came down to the last putt on the last green with Warwickshire narrowly winning 4.5 v 3.5. Sam Sullivan, Alex Ward and Louis O'Regan played some great golf to win their games. Jack Bamford and Mike Downey were well beaten leaving the decider down to Josh Denley who was 1up with 1 to play. Unfortunatly he took 3 putts to allow Warwickshire the narrow win. Day two started with a great win for Gloucestershire 5 games to 3 against Worcestershire after good wins for Sam Sullivan, Jordan Williams, Louis O'Regan, Alex Ward and Jack Bamford. In the other game Warwickshire looked well beaten against Staffordshire but somehow managed to pull a draw out of the bag including one game were they were dormie 3 down. A win for Staffordshire would have left the competition well open but now it was looking odds on a Warwickshire win. In the afternoon games Gloucestershire and Staffordshire had a great fight with the eventual score a draw after wins for Sam Sullivan, Alex Palomeque, Mike Downey and draws for Louis O'Regan and Jack Bamford. This result all but handed the title to Warwickshire who turned on the class on the back 9 to duly complete a comprehensive 7-1 win over Worcestershire. Overall was a very good start to our year with some great golf over the two days from all the players, which bodes well for the season ahead.
