The win secures the Wessex League for Gloucestershire.
The objective at the start of this season was to create a squad of players with strength in depth and an enthusiasm to represent their county. We have surpassed all my expectations with regard to player commitment and availability and I thank all the players for their support. We made a decision to try and build a squad that blends both youth and experience with many players being welcomed back into the County set up or being introduced for the first time. This decision has proved both sensible but also highly successful.
I do not feel it appropriate to highlight any single player’s performance as we demonstrated strength throughout the whole team and have done so all season.
David Lake however must get a mention for his Hole in one at the 7th.
We look forward to the 2010 season with anticipation hoping to defend our title.
