Match Review
On a scorching windless day at Forest Hills Golf Club the morning foursomes began David Lake and Louis O Regan going off 1st were the only casualty losing 2/1 to the strong Gwent pairing. All morning the 4 remaining games seemed under control and although Jason Cuff & Adam Jenkinson birdied the last this was matched by their opponents.
So a good lead starting the singles which soon got better with David Lake playing faultless golf winning 2/1. This fed through the team and before long Gloucestershire had captured 6 out of the next 7 games.
Notable performances from James Dobbs, Jamie Dicks and Alex Higgs 3 juniors all making only their second appearance recording 100 % for the team
But performance of the day goes to Nigel Thompson ably backed up in the morning by Paul Garland however Nigel played stunning golf in his singles winning 5/4
Forest Hills treated the players like royalty virtually closing their marvellous course all day. Many Thanks goes to David Bowen (Secretary) but most of all to their members.
