Firstly when reading this imagine the most outrageous cross wind on a tight , narrow golf course. The morning foursomes went well winning 3-2. The experienced pair winning off top against the much fancied Dyfed pairing. Again experience was key for Jason Cuff and Adam Jenkinson winning the last for a 1 up victory followed by Mike Day and the evergreen Shaun Thornhill also winning 1 up (Mike Day played outstanding never seen him hit the ball so well )
This set up the afternoon singles well but unfortunately the writing was on the wall after 9 holes all but Jason Cuff (4 up through 9 ) were getting beaten. However some great efforts notable Louis O'Regan James , Dodds on his debut , Alex Higgs also on debut gave Gloucestershire some hope but we fell just short.
I felt the team represented the county with true professionalism on and off the course. We had 3 juniors all making their debuts and although it could have gone better for them, the effort and commitment they showed will stand them in good stead. Jason Cuff was Gloucestershire’s leading light winning both his matches Well Done Jason
Dyfed looked after us very well many thanks to Carmarthen Golf Club.
