| The County Foursomes Championship took place at Lansdown Golf Club on a beautiful summer day with a small but high quality field |
|
| on Sunday 26th July. The course has never looked or played better and was presented with some very challenging but fair pin positions for a high |
|
| quality field. Locals Ken Maden & Tom Hamilton (Lansdown) set the pace in the first round with an excellent score of 73, closely followed by |
|
| County Players, Charlie McLean & Jake Phillips (Brickhampton Court), Olly Glaze & Paul Garland (Kendleshire & Lansdown) & Sam Morgan |
|
| & Nick Glasspool (Knowle) who all returned terrific 74s. Glaze & Garland played well in the second round to set the early lead in the clubhouse |
|
| with another 74 to return a 148 which looked like a winning score after Madden & Hamilton had slipped to 150 with a 77. mcLean & phillips then |
|
| produced the best score of the tournament with a magnificent 69 to win the championship on 143, 5 clear of the field. A truly great result. |
|
| The two nett winners were Madden & Hamilton in the morning with a Nett 68.5 & Mike Darby (Chipping Sodbury) & Tony Gough (Lansdown) |
|
| who returned the best afternoon nett of 68. lansdown Golf links made a lot of friends today & great credit must go to the Greens-staff |
