Match Review
The County Juniors took the early seasons spoils with a thrilling match at a very cold Long Ashton.
The First Team got off to a brilliant start winning the first two matches in this Four Ball Better with shots format.
Matches number 3 and 5 ended early with big wins for the Juniors. In match 4 it came down the 18th when Josh Denley nearly holed his wedge for eagle but made birdie to close out a tough contest against Workman and Dean.
The result hinged on the final game without going County Captain Nigel Thompson playing with his Brickhampton team mate Jake Phillips, they stood one up on the 18th Tee. A win would mean a halved match and the First Team would retain the trophy!
Jack Bamford from Henbury then proceeded to hit the two most amazing woods onto this very tough par 5 finishing hole into the teeth of the wind, he makes birdie, shakes hands and the Juniors win the Trophy.
Thanks to Long Ashton and their members for allowing us use of the course.
